About Mushroom pepper fry recipe – Mushroom pepper fry is a spicy dish as the name says we use pepper in it. If you are craving something spicy this dish is for you. We use green chilli’s, red chilli powder and pepper for this dish which makes this dish a lot spicier.

This dish is very simple and yet tasty, pan fried mushrooms with onions and some spice powders. This dish goes well with rice, roti or chapati. Mushrooms are always been my favorite, and this pepper fry tops the list. There are numerous dishes you can make with mushrooms.

Mushroom pepper fry – Preparation

Wash and rinse the mushrooms well. Just washing them in water does not remove the dirt. So, take a cloth and wipe it on the wet mushrooms, dirt will be removed. Cut them into pieces and keep it aside. Meanwhile, cut the onion and green chilli’s.

1. Heat some oil in pan, add jeera seeds and fennel seeds, let it crackle. Add green chilli’s, chopped onion and few curry leaves, fry them until onions become translucent.

2. Add ginger garlic paste and fry it for a minute.

3. Now add the spice powders one by one, add turmeric powder, coriander seed powder, red chilli powder and give this a nice mix.

4. Add mushrooms to this and mix it well until the masala and mushrooms combine.

5. Add water and salt, mix and cook it for sometime. It takes 6 to 8 minutes for the mush rooms to cook.

6. Once the mushrooms are cooked, add pepper powder and give it a nice mix.

7. Turn off the stove, add few coriander leaves and combine.

8. Tasty and spicy mushroom pepper fry is ready.

Notes

  1. Make this recipe spicy, while having with rice add some ghee. It tastes great.
  2. Adding red chilli powder is optional, you can skip it if you doesn’t want is spicy.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams mushrooms
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds jeera
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds saunf
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli
  • tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander seed powder
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • water as required
  • salt to taste
  • few curry leaves
  • few coriander leaves
