I feel millet rava tastes better than normal rava and hence there is no compromise in the taste.

Millet rava – making procedure

First, take the millet into a bowl( i have taken 1 cup) and wash it well for 2 to 3 times. Soak in water for 6 to 8 hours or overnight.

After soaking, remove the water and let it drain for 5 to 10 minutes. So, the remaining water can drain out from millet.

Put the millet on a cloth( i used towel), spread the millet and let it dry for 3 to 4 hours.

Once the millet is well dried, then roast it for 2 to 3 minutes in low flame. It ensures to remove any moisture in the millet, let it cool.

Then take some millet to a mixer jar, and pulse it for 4 to 5 times.

Take this pulsed millet into a medium sized sieve, and sieve it. Some finely broken millet comes through the sieve.

Put the leftover millet in the sieve into the jar(second round of pulsing), and pulse it and sieve. Continue pulsing and sieving for 3 rounds, by then millet will be broken into rava.

Millet rava is ready. Store it in an air tight container.
