Jump to RecipeCauliflower is not one of the vegetable that i am not excited about. During childhood, we rarely used to have this veggie, and also deep frying with batter coated on it. Now a days, trying to follow healthy diet deep frying happens occasionally.
After trying out this cauliflower fry, this became one of my favorites. Whenever i go to a grocery store, i try to get this veggie and make this fry. This is so tasty and goes well with everything.
It requires less oil, fewer ingredients, easy to make and also turns out tasty! Cauliflower is very healthy and also nutritious. It is also very easy to include into our diet. Do try out this recipe and let me know how it turned out.
Cauliflower fry – cooking procedure
First, cut the cauliflower florets into small pieces. Put these pieces into a bowl, add salt ad turmeric.
Pour some water into the bowl, boil this for 6 to 7 minutes. Strain it and keep aside.
Heat some oil in a pan, add chana dal, urad dal and cumin and let splutter. Add one green chilli and fry.
Add few curry leaves and onion and fry the onion until golden brown.
After that add ginger garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes.
Now, add in cooked cauliflower florets, mix and fry them for 2 minutes.
Add turmeric and little salt and fry for 4 to 5 minutes.
Cauliflower will be roasted a bit. Add red chilli powder, cumin powder, mix well and fry for more 2 minutes.
Then, add chick pea flour (besan), mix and roast it for 3 to 4 minutes until the rawness in the flour leaves.
Tada! simple and tasty cauliflower fry is ready.
Notes
- You can also add some pepper to this if you need more spicy.
- Chick pea flour adds nice taste to fry, so do not skip it.

- 1 medium sized sliced onion
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- ½ tsp chana dal
- ½ tsp urad dal
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- 1 green chilli
- 1 tbsp. chick pea flour besan
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp cumin powder
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp. oil
- curry leaves
- water
Instructions
