About Cabbage 65 recipe This i a deep fried dish which we find in many restaurants in south India. Cabbage is used in many recipes like Veg Manchurian, noodles, fried rice etc. Fried cabbage has very delicious flavor so I often use it in many dishes. It is a best tea time snack or a good dish for munching on the side. It goes well with dal rice or any fried rice. I made this recipe the leftover cabbage in my fridge. This is a very simple dish using very few ingredients.

Cabbage 65 recipe

1. Cut the cabbage into quarters and wash them well. Shred them and drain completely.

2. Take the shredded cabbage into a bowl add salt, ginger garlic paste and chilli powder and mix it well. Moisture releases from the cabbage.

3. Now add gram flour and rice flour and mix it thoroughly and let it sit for 10 mins.

4. Add oil in a pan to deep fry this cabbage mixture. Take small amounts and drop gently into the oil.

5. Fry them until golden brown and crisp.

6. Tasty cabbage 65 is ready.

Ingredients

  • 250 grams cabbage
  • 3 tbsp gram flour(besan)
  • 1 tbsp rice flour
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp chilli powder
  • oil for deep fry
  • water as needed
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • Into a bowl cut and shred the cabbage.
  • Add salt, ginger garlic paste and chilli powder and give it a mix.
  • Add gram flour and rice flour to it, mix it thoroughly. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Meanwhile heat the oil for deep frying.
  • Once the oil is hot, add the cabbage mixture into the oil gently.
  • Stirring at regular intervals, fry until golden brown and crispy.
  • Cabbage 65 is ready, enjoy!

Notes

  1. Do not forget to add rice flour, it adds crispness to the dish.
  2. Squeeze and mix the cabbage because it releases moisture, thus shall be enough to bind the mixture or else just sprinkle little water and mix.
