About aloo samosa recipe – Aloo samosa is one of the famous snack items in India. It is everyone’s favorite. Samosa is a fried dish with savory filling, such as potatoes, meat, onions etc.

In aloo samosa we use potatoes, few green pea and spices to make the savory filling. I use wheat flour to make the dough. These samosa’s are very tasty and flavorful and you can have these as a tea time snack. There are different ways to make these, but i am showing how i usually make these at home.

Aloo samosa recipe – Preparation

Preparing the dough – To prepare the dough, take some wheat flour into a bowl add salt and mix.

Add some oil and mix this thoroughly.

Pour water little by little and make into a dough, close a lid and keep this aside.

Preparing the filling – For filling, first boil the potatoes, peel skin and mash them.

Heat some oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let it splutter, add grated ginger and finely chopped green chillis and mix. Add few curry leaves and let it fry for few seconds.

Add few green peas to this and fry it for 1 minute.

Into this add boiled aloo and give it a nice mix.

Now add the masalas, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander seed powder, garam masala powder and chat masala, mix it well.

At last, add few coriander leaves and turn off the flame. Give this a nice mix.

Aloo samosa – Cooking

Take small piece of dough, roll it and make it into a chapati. Cut this into half, roll one half into a cone, fill it with aloo and seal the opening.

It forms into a triangular shape. Keep this aside and continue to prepare more samosas.

Once done, heat oil in fan for frying. Gently drop these samosas one by one into oil and fry them until golden brown.

Notes

  1. You can also use all purpose flour i.e. maida to prepare the dough, since i am not a big fan of maida i always use wheat flour.
  2. You can also include other vegetables like carrot, beans etc. for the filling.

Ingredients

250 ml cup measure

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 2 big potatoes
  • ¼ cup green peas
  • 2 nos. green chillis
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander seed powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp chat masala
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • few curry leaves
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds jeera
  • few coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • required water

Instructions
