Black-eyed peas are highly nutritious and associated with many impressive health benefits. In particular, they may help in support weight loss, improve heart health, and promote digestive health. We use black eyed beans to prepare curries, pulao, fritters etc.
This dish is an evening snack recipe which can prepared very easily. Have them with a cup of chai or coffee by the side. Karam chutney or peanut chutney goes well with these fritters. Do try this simple recipe and enjoy.
Alasanda vadalu recipe – Procedure
1. Take some black eyed beans into a bowl, wash and rinse them nicely. Let them soak for 4 to 5 hours.
2. After soaking, transfer them into a jar, add red chilli’s, green chilli’s, ginger, garlic and salt. Grind it coarsely and take this into a bowl.
3. Now, add finely chopped onion, curry leaves and coriander leaves and mix it thoroughly.
4. Heat some oil in a pan for deep frying. Take some mixture and make into a round and press them, you will get the shape and gently drop them into hot oil.
5. Fry them until golden brown and remove from oil, continue till done.
6. Tasty alasanda vadalu are ready. Serve them hot with karam chutney or pea nut chutney.
Notes
- Soak the beans for at least 4 hours, so that you can grind them easily.
- You can add any green leaves like spinach, drumstick leaves etc.

- salt to taste
